In some cases, insomnia is caused by the hours you keep. This is quite true among people who work night shifts and then have a great deal of difficulty sleeping during daylight hours. Everyone has a natural rhythm that makes it easier for them to fall asleep at certain times. You could have very real trouble sleeping when you’re forced to go against your natural sleep cycles. Some people are able, with a lot of diligent effort, to teach their bodies to adjust to a different rhythm but it’s not an easy task. For most people, sleeping at night is much more natural but there are some people who perform better at night and sleep better during the daytime hours.

Knowing the cause of your insomnia is the first step towards getting the help you need to get a good night’s sleep. Sleep is too important in all areas of your life to ignore. Keep looking to find the culprit in your cause if one of these is not the cause of your insomnia.
